About

Write it down, make it happen.

"I've always wanted to learn how to fly," is a frequent response when I tell others I'm a pilot. It's a phrase I said to myself for years untilI I wrote in down on my five year goal list and then it became a reality. In September of 2018, at the age of 58, I walked into a flight school and started training and I haven't stopped yet. Once I experienced the miracle of flight, I was hooked. The miracle isn't that an airplane actually files, the miracle is that this something anyone can do, including me. Being at the controls of an airplane rolling down the runway and leaving the ground is always exhilarating, every time. And now as a certified flight instructor I get to share the privilege of flight with others.

I belong to the Mockingbird Flying Club based out of Sioux Falls, KFSD. The club has 37 members and three planes, two Archers and a Saratoga. I serve on the club's board of directors and I am the crew chief for N82965 our 1980 Saratoga. I am also on the Luverne Airport board where we are working to expand the ramp area to allow for more hangers to be built.

I'm married to Brenda and we have three grown children and four growing granddaughters. I have owned and operated Myhre Studio, a portrait studio in Luverne, MN for over 20 years. I serve Jesus Christ in my church and through leadership in Bible Study Fellowship most recently as an online men's group leader.
